Banquet
Costs for the last two years at
the Ranch and projected costs for holding it at the Elks were
presented and discussed. It was approved to hold it at the Elks
and we hope to save a substantial amount of money. See you in
February. If someone is a member of BPOE#804 please contact
Kevin or JB as we could save even more money with a member
sponsor.
New Business
Bob Hix
and Noe explained the wanted-- Farm Bill biologists and what is
expected. The NRCS office is going to provide an office, vehicle and
matching funds. PF needs to raise $100k to kick this off the ground for
2 years. PF and NRCS (Natural Resources Conservation Service) are
looking at 2 positions initially. One in Holyoke and one in Burlington.
It was discussed and approved that we commit for $3k this year and sign
a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) for $3k next year with our option of
increasing it. We also approved $1k for the LAF (Legislative Action
Fund). LAF supports National PF and especially lobbyists for CRP and the
Farm Bill.
If we were able to find sponsors for the youth hunts that would
free up $4k or more for other projects.
Noe has drafted a letter
to the USDA Farm Service Agency. She handed out copies and asked for
comment and will mail it before the deadline. Thank you Noe.
Stan B.
talked about the very positive responses he had received from TUNE camp
participants, parents and relatives. He would like to hold 2 camps next
year and was very excited (for Stan) about next years camp(s).
