Have you ever wanted to try goose hunting? Well. Here is your chance. Colorado Pheasants Forever, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and Colorado Youth Outdoors have teamed up to give you that experience. On Saturday January 14th and Saturday January 28th, we are having a goose hunt at Wellington State Wildlife Area. We will take 10 young people hunting on each of those days for a total of 20 young people. You must pre-register below. You must be 12 to 17 years of age. You must have a current hunting license. If you are over the age of 16, you must have a federal water fowl stamp and a Colorado water fowl stamp.

We will be showing you how to call geese, how to place your decoys and if we are lucky maybe even shoot a goose. The hours of the hunt will be 7am to 11:30am each day.

You will need the following:

1. Steel shot shells of #2 or bigger

2. Warm clothes-use layers of clothes not just heavy clothes. No bright colors-camo preferred

3. Warm footwear

4. Snacks and drinks

5. current hunting license

6. over 16, you must have a federal water fowl stamp and a Colorado water fowl stamp

We will furnish the following:

1. Hunting blinds

2. A gun-- if you need one

3. Decoys

4. A morning of adventure

We will draw 10 names for each of the 2 days we will be hunting.
